The Challenge
The primary challenge was to merge the three distinct companies, each with their own Microsoft 365 tenancy, servers, and systems, into one. This included migrating user accounts, mailboxes, OneDrive data, SharePoint data, and devices enrolled in Intune. Additionally, we had to consolidate server data, including the Microsoft SQL Server line of business applications and systems, into one central instance.
The Solution
To address these challenges, we utilised the Quest On Demand Migration tool, which we are certified to use. This tool allowed us to automate the migration of enrolled devices from one tenancy to another, saving hundreds of hours. We successfully migrated around 100 devices from three different tenancies into one central tenancy, all while ensuring data protection controls and security remained intact during the migration process.
The Results
All devices are now centrally managed, and all data is consolidated into one instance of each system. This has streamlined operations and improved efficiency across the newly formed company.
