What is Power Automate?

Power Automate is a tool within Microsoft 365 that allows individuals and organisations to create automated workflows, removing the need to manually conduct repetitive tasks, saving time and improving productivity.

Users can create custom workflows that can be started by specific events, such as your team receiving an email when you’ve uploaded a document on SharePoint.

What is Power Automate used for?

The modern workplace has developed and adapted to new technologies since the release of Covid-19, with Microsoft 365 and Power Automate leading the way in streamlining work processes.

By the end of this post, you’ll understand what Power Automate is, what Power Automate is used for and with Power Automate examples to help you start your journey to an easier and more productive work environment.

We’ve even created a step-by-step tutorial to scheduling a meeting to introduce you to the potential of Power Automate tools for the modern workplace.

How Power Automate can help modernise the workplace:

  • Modernising communication: Power Automate can automate repetitive processes like sending notifications, follow-up emails, and reminders, making communication easier and more efficient.
  • Efficiency: By automating tasks with Power Automate, employees have more time to focus on other tasks. For example, if social media content requires approval before publishing, Power Automate can improve the process through automation.
  • Improving collaboration: Power Automate helps improve team collaboration by automating the process. For example, users can create custom workflows that can be started by specific events, such as your team receiving an email when you’ve uploaded a document on SharePoint. This ensures your team stay up to date.
  • Data Management: Data integration, extraction and backup can all be done through Power Automate, ensuring data is easily accessible and current.
